An afternoon at Ingatestone
Enjoy an afternoon at Ingatestone Hall. Tour the eight principal rooms containing paintings, furniture and memorabilia accumulated over the centuries and wander in the ten acres of gardens.
Opening times
We are generally open on wednesdays, sundays and bank holidays from 12 noon to 5pm, last entry 4pm, between Easter and the end of September. Guided tours for groups are available at other times by prior arrangement: see guided tours.

Facilities
- Free parking in the Meadow Car Park, where picnicking is permitted.
- Teas and light lunches are served in the Summer Parlour whenever the house is open without pre-booking.
- A wide range of gifts and souvenirs are on sale in the Shop.
Please note
During the course of the season of normal openings there are a number of special events. Please note that the character of some of these events has a radical effect on the experience offered to the visitor.
Ingatestone Hall also hosts other events throughout the year. Some of these and other private events require the closure or restriction of normal access to the house and grounds.

- Dogs (except for guide dogs) are not permitted in the house or grounds.
- Unaccompanied children are not admitted.
- Photography is not permitted inside the house.
- To comply with any prevailing advice from the government about Covid, certain restrictions to access and/or movement around the house may be in force.
Access
We do our best to facilitate wheelchair access but no 16th century house is ideal in this respect. In the house, there is no access to the upper floor and, although most of the grounds are accessible, there are some steep slopes and soft surfaces which may be difficult to negotiate. The House is about a 200 metre walk from the car park.
